The staff of the Equestrian Academy at Uppsala university wish to welcome you to one of the oldest equestrian departments in the world. Since its foundation in 1663, the Academy Stable of Uppsala university has provided the staff and students of Scandinavia's oldest university with a high standard of riding instruction. In the past the Academy's major responsibility was to educate the officers of the Swedish Cavalry, but today, its major role lies in the education of its members for the purposes of sport and recreation.
The Academy Stable is located close to the centre of the historical
city of Uppsala, and is not only adjacent to a number of the
University's educational institutions, but is also favoured by a close
proximity of a number of large parkland areas. The Stable offers its
members both indoor and outdoor riding venues. The outdoor venues
include a wide selection of activities, such as: jumping, dressage and
cross country courses. The forest provides another option for those
more interested to take one of its riding paths.
